Wood Environment & Infrastructure Solutions, Inc. is seeking an environmental professional to join our Indianapolis, Indiana office. This position is open to entry level, technician or experienced staff. This person will initially be assigned to an Indiana field project that is scheduled to last approximately 3 months in duration. During this field deployment, you will work with other professional staff and be provided the opportunity to learn and/or strengthen your experience in collecting environmental samples (e.g., soil, groundwater, sediment, etc.), record field observations, and package samples for laboratory analysis. At the conclusion of this project, you will work in our Indianapolis office and provide support to the local operation, as well as, support the regional office locations. We are looking for people with a strong work ethic, willing to travel, willing to learn or lead field project tasks and activities.
Pay will be commensurate with level of experience.
Skills / Qualifications
- Pass drug test and fit-for-duty physical exam
- Valid driver’s license
- Ability to travel up to fulltime
- Problem-solving skills
- Ability to communicate effectively with colleagues, clients, and regulators
- Associate or Bachelor degree in geology, engineering, environmental science, or related field
- Experience related to the position
- Knowledge of USCS and USDA soil classification systems
- Drilling and soil logging experience
- Technical writing skills
- HAZWOPER 40-hour training (and annual 8-hr refreshers, as appropriate)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word
