Exam Specialists serve as the main point of contact for various examinations including but not limited to federal, state, and investor, external reviews such as partner due diligence related requests. They work with various agencies to ensure adherence to all examination requirements and meet all deadlines. They also ensure compliance with company policy and procedures, monitor the effectiveness of established compliance processes, and implement technology enhancements.
Interact directly with external agencies and serve as the main point of contact for the company
Execute and maintain protocols and procedures to manage, respond to, and report on various examinations
Proactively track various incoming examinations and outgoing responses to these requests
Effectively manage multiple projects
Support a variety of projects and assist Senior Exam Specialists and Team Leaders with identifying and resolving issues across multiple business units
Assist external auditors with fulfilling examination requests and coordinating with internal businesses teams to complete various regulatory exams, inquiries, reviews, and audits
Act as a liaison between teams to gather and communicate essential information around reporting parameters specified by each state or agency
Gather relevant information and documentation necessary to ensure origination and servicing compliance
Assist in gathering, preparing, and analyzing data sets within the mortgage process for reporting purposes to each regulatory agency
Manage the coordination of potential findings and/or violations for successful resolution
Review findings and/or violations from various agencies with senior leadership to align on whether the company agrees with these findings and/or violations.
Compile key compliance updates and report results to teams on a regular basis
Coordinate with inside counsel to interpret regulatory guidelines and communicate those requirements to multiple business units and remain involved with the development of processes to meet these guideline requirements
Coordinate with inside counsel to research and document legal and regulatory requirements
