I-195 REDEVELOPMENT DISTRICT COMMISSION
The Chairman of the I-195 Redevelopment District Commission is now accepting applications for the position of Executive Director of the I-195 Redevelopment District (“District”).
GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES: To be responsible for principally directing and leading the District in the marketing, disposition and development of the I-195 properties owned by the District.
SUPERVISION RECEIVED: Work under the direction of the I-195 Redevelopment District Commission (“Commission”) and its Chairman and in coordination with the Executive Office of Commerce to (a) play a lead role to plan, implement, administer, and oversee the redevelopment of the I-195 properties; and (b) facilitate the exercise of development and redevelopment powers existing at the state and local levels.
SUPERVISION EXERCISED: Plan, organize, coordinate, supervise and review the work of professional, administrative, technical and other staff and consultants to (a) plan, market, implement, administer, and oversee the redevelopment of the surplus I-195 properties; and (b) facilitate the exercise of development and redevelopment powers existing at the state and local levels. Generally, to be responsible for carrying out the powers and duties of the District under the direction of the Commission as set forth in R.I. Gen. Laws § 42-64.14-7.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS FOR APPOINTMENT:
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND CAPACITIES: A thorough knowledge of the principles, practices and techniques involved in real estate development and business development working with stakeholders at the state and local levels.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Education: Such as may have been gained through: graduation from a college of recognized standing with a degree in Public or Business Administration, Finance, Real Estate, Architecture, Engineering or a related field; and
Experience: Such as may have been gained through employment in a responsible professional position involving capital asset management, real estate property development, business development, marketing and/or property leasing within a private or governmental setting.
Or, any combination of education and experience that shall be substantially equivalent to the above education and experience.
