We are seeking an Exercise Specialist to: - Teach exercise principles, respond to any emergent events and tend to the environment of the fitness center. - Perform assessments on new participants – taking account of medical history, exercise history, and any basic exercise physiology measurements. - Use data and information to develop safe exercise programs for new and existing participants. Education: Minimum - Bachelor’s Degree in Exercise Physiology, Kinesiology or related field. Work Experience: Minimum - Previous healthcare experience Preferred - Computer experience with Microsoft Office Suite of software products. Licenses and Certifications: Minimum - Current CPR/AED certification. Required Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities:· - Ability to work with a wide variety of participants and patients (age range 12 - 85+ years) - Excellent interpersonal and communication skills Physical Requirements: Medium: Ability to lift up to 50 pounds maximum with frequent lifting and/or carrying objects weighing up to 25 pounds. W ork Schedule: This is a part-time position, 50% FTE (20 hours per week) Variety of hours Monday - Friday between the hours of 6:00 pm - 10:00 pm. Rotating weekends will be scheduled Saturday between the hours of 8:00 am - 5:00 pm and Sunday between the hours of 11:00 am - 5:00 pm. Hours may vary based on the needs of the department.
