About the Job
Under the direction of the Director of Finance, the Facilities & Emergency Management Specialist is responsible for project building needs, including safety, security, and facility operations. This specialist manages lease agreements and security contracts. This specialist also coordinates the development, implementation, and maintenance of emergency management plans for the health plan in the event of a local or statewide emergency, including any disruption to normal business operations. The Facilities & Emergency Management Specialist ensures continuity of core services and benefits for members who are evacuated out of state or to other locations within Louisiana during disasters. This person also provides backup support to local finance for the health plan, including vendor management, sourcing oversight, and resource purchase and allocation.
Five to ten years
Minimum of 5-7 years of progressive experience working on facilities projects.
• Ability to work successfully with all associates and all management levels and the general public.
• Strong time management and organizational skills.
• Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects/priorities simultaneously under tight time constraints.
• Demonstrated ability to create an environment of constructive urgency and possesses the judgment necessary to determine when this is necessary.
• Excellent oral and written communication and customer service skills.
• Experienced in Business Continuity Plan development, maintenance and testing.
• Experience in initiating and leading the collaboration, facilitation and coordination of all individuals and resources involved in emergency and non-emergency situations.
• Experience in evaluating emergency crisis situations and demonstrating leadership in interactions with employees, contractors, public officials, other government agencies and the public, especially during critical emergency incidents.
• Experience in applying principles and practices of emergency management/preparedness including mitigation, preparedness, response and recovery plans
• Experience in supervising, training, motivating and leading volunteers.
