The Facility Services Department is focused on maintaining a safe, clean and effective environment for the Laboratory community as well as providing the infrastructure that aligns with and supports the research initiatives in a high quality, and cost effective manner. The Operations & Maintenance team in our department provides the hands-on skill and expertise to enable our stewardship of the facilities. Functionally they engage in the maintenance and upkeep of electrical and mechanical systems, HVAC, grounds, custodial, construction, and more.
- Responsibilities will include programming, testing, start-up, troubleshooting, and necessary administrative tasks to support and maintain building automation systems. Initial assignment will primarily focus on the several building automation systems; Continuum, Struxureware and ALC energy management systems. In particular, support of regular Laboratory renovation projects, support of research community needs, and day-to-day support of the maintenance technicians.
- Other responsibilities will include support for the chilled water plant control systems, building fire alarm and control, physical plant security, power monitoring, OSI-soft PI system data historian, Toxic Gas Monitoring and Control systems and some programmable logic control systems. Programmer will interact with Laboratory researchers, engineers, operations and maintenance personnel, and contractors to provide safe, functional, and reliable control systems.
- Candidate must have experience and working knowledge of Microsoft Office tools. They must be self-motivated with the ability to carry out accurate and complete assignments. Must also be service oriented and a willing teacher/consultant with excellent organizational and communication skills.
