The Department of Immunology and Microbiology in the Office of Integrated Medical Education at Rush University Medical Center is seeking a Faculty member to join its team. This faculty position will follow what Rush has termed a New Generation of Basic Science Medical School Teachers. The role of this position is focused on responsibilities of teacher and administrator. Rush Medical College is engaged in its teaching activities and has heightened its expectations of educators, requiring superior skills and accountability. This new kind of basic science teacher has been thoughtfully designed to enhance the educational experience and opportunities at Rush Medical College.
The successful candidate will demonstrate a strong record of experience in health professions teaching and leadership. Requirements include PhD or MD/PhD (or equivalent) and credentials that merit appointment in Rush Medical College at the rank of Assistant, Associate, or Professor Level, commensurate with their experience and accomplishments. The successful candidate will effectively communicate and engage with students in large groups, small groups, and individually. The successful candidate with be responsible for course directorship and development of and implementation of curricular content in the discipline of Microbiology and Immunology. Ideal candidates will collaborate with faculty from various departments within Rush Medical College and actively participate in the Rush Medical College community through its' various committees, task forces and work groups. Candidates must have high standards of integrity, trust, and ethics with a commitment to academic excellence.
