The Department of Neurology at the University of Minnesota invites applications for faculty members at the Associate or Professor, Tenure-Track ranks from candidates with an M.D. or M.D.-Ph.D. specializing in neuromuscular disease research and care. This position will lead the Wellstone Muscular Dystrophy Center. Successful candidates are physician scientists who are recognized as a leader in the field of neuromuscular medicine, have a strong record of procuring NIH funding, experience in mentoring junior faculty in the development of clinical, translational or basic research programs, and medical school or department level leadership experience. The successful applicant will be expected to develop clinical and/or basic research programs.
- MD license and able to practice in Minnesota
- American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology Certified
- Leadership experience in an academic healthcare setting
- Experience in the care of patients with muscle diseases
- Distinguished academic publication record
- Strong record of NIH funding
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work collaboratively with others
- Must have the ability to receive work authorization in the United States from the US Citizenship and Immigration Services and maintain legal status according to the requirements of the VISA category while in the United States.
