To instruct, train, and develop those Farm Bureau Insurance agents who have been selected and assigned to a specific training period. To train in all coverages and transactions for all lines of Farm agribusiness handled by Farm Bureau Insurance or FB Partners Group written for the client. To assure the selected agents are qualified to enter the Farm/Agribusiness Marketing Partner (FMP) training program. To develop the selected agents' ability to provide Farm Bureau members with the farm risk management solutions they need; to efficiently write farm/agribusiness lines of business; and to improve in the basic farm/agribusiness metrics of written accounts, written premium and policy retention for profitable business.
Perform a wide variety of functional activities intended to increase the production and service efficiency of those agents working in the farm/agribusiness property/casualty markets, and motivate and encourage more agents to enter those markets.
Train and educate the agency force of six to eight agencies and their staff at one time in the entire cycle of insurance, from prospect to renewed policyholder, including technical information and sales techniques applicable to the farm property/casualty markets.
Develop methods to better position our sales team in the agriculture marketplace. Conduct seminars, workshops and training programs at the partnership level. Routinely present at Agency Meetings. Write articles related to sales, education, changing trends, and product knowledge for partnerships and company publications.
Required: Bachelor's degree in marketing, agri-business, agriculture, insurance or finance required, or equivalent experience may be considered. Minimum five years’ farm/agribusiness sales or underwriting experience required, with extensive knowledge of farm/agribusiness lines preferred. Proven ability to train one-on-one and in group settings required. Must possess a valid driver license with an acceptable driving record. Working knowledge of commercial insurance industry Demonstrated aptitude for building relationships. Ability to identify agency barriers to success and provide educational and practical solutions. Designations in AAIC Ag Advisor required within first 90 days of hire.
Preferred: Experience selling in the farm/agribusiness insurance marketplace preferred.
Note: This is a work from home position covering the West Region, primarily covering these Michigan counties: Allegan, Barry, Berrien, Cass, Kalamazoo, Kent, Muskegon, Newaygo, Oceana, Ottawa, St. Joseph, Van Buren.
