National electrical services and equipment company looking to expand it’s Ohio operations in need of Field Service Switchgear Technicians. The Field Service Switchgear Technician will be responsible for installing, troubleshooting, servicing and testing of electrical power systems and subsystems including switchgear.
WHAT DOES THIS JOB ENTAIL?
*Testing of electro-mechanical, numerical and microprocessor based protective relays and control devices.
*Project managing of retrofit, upgrade, and replacement projects for electrical controls, SCADA, DCS and power system protection equipment.
*Interpreting customer and sales submitted technical documents, quotations, and service requests and applying that data directly to the quoted task at hand.
*Communicating technical information clearly and concisely to management and customers.
*Travel to job locations.
* Applying pertinent technical and safety standards to the assigned work i.e. (IEEE,NETA,NEMA,NEC).
*Creating test reports and summaries of work completed.

IS IT RIGHT FOR YOU?
*Must have 1 to 5+ years of experience in electrical power systems and subsytems and field service work.
*Must have experience testing electro-mechanical, numerical and microprocessor based protective relay and control devices.
*Must have good mechanical aptitude and background.
*Must be able to perform diagnostic testing and analysis to include relay testing and calibration.
*Must have experience in installing, troubleshooting, servicing and testing electrical power systems including SCADA, DCS, protection, automation and controls equipment.
*Must be able to work with field service engineers and capable of analyzing job requirements in order to help in quoting jobs.
*Must be able to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral,diagram or schedule form.
*Must have experience with mathematical concepts as required in AC/DC electrical theory and trigonometry as applied to power systems.
*Must have good computer skills and experience with MS Word, Excel and Outlook and the use of a laptop for testing and configuring relays utilizing various 3rd party applications.
*Must be willing to travel 80% of the time within a 100-200 mile radius and work in the shop when not in the field.
