**What We're Looking For** Primarily responsible for observing contractor's work to monitor the projects compliance with contract documents and report findings. Coordinates and monitors the inspection efforts of inspection staff in their assigned areas of responsibilities on small to mid size projects to determine that Contractor's construction activities are monitored and controlled in accordance with design plans, specifications and contractual requirements. May provide guidance and training to inspection staff. Monitors contractor's construction progress as compared to overall project and contract schedule. Primary Focus Will Include: + Act as an on-site liaison between Client, Resident Engineer, and Contractor + Work with Contractor, RE, and Client to resolve conflicts in the field + Monitor construction progress to assure compliance with contract requirements and schedule + Prepare Inspector's Daily Reports + Provide verification of material approval + Participate in mentoring, development and evaluation of CM staff + Foster a safety culture on the project site Preferred Qualifications and Skills: + EIT, PE, CMIT, or CCM are preferred + Understanding of construction methods, including standards, equipment, processes and safety considerations, and an ability to read and interpret contract documents. + Strong written and oral communication skills, including the ability to maintain good working relationships with clients, contractors, management, and coworkers. + Proficiency with computer applications such as Bluebeam, Microsoft Word, Excel, and Project. + Proficiency with mobile devices such as tablet computers. **What You'll Need** Essential Responsibilities: + Performs/observes on-site material testing. + Produces as-constructed schedules. + Mentors and trains staff. + Reads and interprets contract documents. + Prepares Inspectors Daily Report of contractors work. + Responsible for maintaining as constructed drawings. + Performs complicated mathematical calculations. + Monitors contractors progress and analyzes it against progress schedule. + Initiates field changes to drawings and specifications. + Performs other duties as assigned.
