U. S. Bankis seeking a detailed oriented Financial Systems Business Analyst to supportthe Finance Division’s Data Warehouse and Applications (FDW & OFSA) inManagement Reporting Operations. Thisinvolves attending the TOS Project meetings and representing MRO and ourapplication files. This includes,managing the design (if new), development, maintenance of existing files into FDW/OFSA. These data feeds provide the informationneeded to support bank-wide Basel initiatives, Regulatory Reportinginitiatives, and any new data elements needed for the Bank’s new reportingapplication software (Axiom).
The Analystwill attend project meetings that have gone through the prioritization processand are ready to start development work. They will read/interpret business requirements written by the BusinessLines for changes to application files and determine impact to MRO. The Analyst should have a good understandingof the Business so that when needed, they are able to challenge the BusinessLines when necessary. In addition, theAnalyst will need to interpret the TOS functional/technical design documentswritten by the programmer. It could alsoinvolve writing business requirements when FDW/OFSA requires additional dataelements.
As theproject moves through the development life cycle, it will also involve testingand working through issues. Itwill involve querying information from a data warehouse, writing some PL/SQLfor data manipulation and performing other ad-hoc data mining, profiling andfinancial analysis. As the project movesinto production, they will maintain project documentation serving as a resourcefor the rest of MRO when application questions arise.
Specificduties could include some of the following:
Gaininga working knowledge of business needs in order to write business requirementsfor new interfaces.
Researchand analyze the financial data of the bank in order to determine bestproblem-solving approach.
Workingwith other programmers and reviewing their technical design document.
Datawarehousing (Creating Oracle tables and loading test files using Oracle SQLLoader.)
Testingthe data. A critical component of whichincludes reconciling data to General Ledger information. Proficiency in Microsoft desk tools such asExcel and Access are required.
Documentingtest issues and re-testing until bugs are worked out and data reconciles.
WritingOracle procedures (PL/SQL) to refine the data and add other ManagerialReporting data including Transfer Pricing and Basel/Economic Equitycalculations, and data quality checks.
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in MIS, CIS, CS, Statistics, Math, Accounting, Finance or Economics, or equivalent work experience
- Four to six years of related experience
