Responsible for performing specialized skilled electrical tasks pertaining to fire alarm systems.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Includes the following. Other duties may be assigned. Responsible for performing specialized skilled tasks pertaining to fire alarm systems and fire suppression systems. Duties include establishing and maintaining fire alarm testing and inspection programs, assuring all fire alarm systems have passed inspection, establishing a training program to assure proper operation of fire alarm systems, monitoring inspection schedules, and initiating minor repairs to fire alarm systems. Uses specialized tools and testing instruments of the electrical trade. Supervision is received from an administrative superior who reviews work for technical quality and adherence to established policies and procedures.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: N.l.C.E.T. Level II certification required. Two year certificate from college or technical school; or five to seven years journeyman level fire alarm experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
REASONING ABILITY: Ability to interpret and apply codes, blueprints, wiring diagrams and engineering drawings. Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
