Fire Sales Manager - Portland
The Fire Construction Sales Manager leads thestrategy, alignment, and development of the new construction and retrofit fire projectsfor the assigned markets - which includes both Sprinkler and Fire Alarm. Yourrole builds long- term relationships with Electrical Contractors, ConsultingEngineers, select Owners, and General Contractors to drive the sales of JCIofferings on new construction and retrofit projects.

The Fire Construction Sales Manager is skilledat strategic selling in the construction space, understands the key influencersand the construction purchasing process, and develops the selling skills oftheir sellers. The Fire Construction Sales Manager is responsible forunderstanding market potential, key construction projects, represents JCI inconstruction industry events, and engages above the branch support resources tobest position to win.
This position will work closely with the OwnerSales Managers to cover the end user stakeholders on key construction projectsand ensure best strategic selling practices are applied. Leads and projectsfrom McGraw Hill (CP for SFDC) and other construction lead sources will be usedto grow market share within assigned markets.

Coaching: This role must provide coaching anddevelopment of sellers through observed and unobserved calls, and createmeaningful development goals for your team that help them close gaps andprepare them for future leadership roles in the organization.
Domains: The Fire Construction Sales Managerneeds to have knowledge of Fire, Security, Controls and HVAC equipment domainsand understand the construction process to seek out opportunities to bundleother domains through differentiation. They should develop a workingunderstanding of their non-native domain and offerings through a developmentprogram provided by sales operations.
Peer Collaboration? As a sales leader, thisrole is responsible to drive collaboration between selling teams that share theMontreal market assignment. Collaboration is essential with HVAC ConstructionSales Managers, Owner Sales Leader, the Installation Managers, and theStrategic Account Managers for owner influence over construction projects.Peers will have relationships with customers in the market that will increasethe success of the Fire Construction sales team. Peers can also enableincreased networking with owners, contractors, and consultants in themarket.
•Responsible for sales plan achievementof assigned geographic area
•Manage the day-to-day high volumeactivities of a sales team ensuring JCI meets or exceeds customer and salesgoal expectations.
•Partner with Area Sales Manager todevelop sales strategies, negotiate contracts and execute pricing strategy todevelop new business and maintain existing business.
•Review and monitor sales performance,and refine sales strategies as required ensuring employee successfully meetsassigned goals and objectives.
•Reallocate resources to improve overallresults as needed.
•Contribute to the development ofmarketing, customer retention, advertising, pricing, and distributionstrategies for the district or branch.
•Ensure the sales force receivescoaching and training on the technical aspects of the organization’s productsand services; on marketing campaigns and sales promotions; and on salestechniques, procedures, and standards that will help them achieve their salestargets.
•Create and drive local sales strategyin alignment with enterprise programs and strategies
•Build hire, develop and align ahigh-performing team
•Focus on high level customer (internaland external) networking and drive growth through collaboration and customersuccess.
•Lead all sales activities for thearea’s geographic boundary for the fire alarm, security, fire sprinkler andfire suppression businesses.
•Collaborate with other area and nationallybased sales leaders to leverage best practices and achieve company objectivesin growing the national account customer base.
•Develop business plans for theterritory including business development strategies, sales staffing, salesmarket assignments, strategic customer development and industry relations
•Direct sales forecasting activities andset performance standards in alignment with assigned objectives.
•Conduct regular “ride along” sessionswith employees to coach, mentor, and meet with key clients to assist salesrepresentatives with building and strengthening relationships, skills andnegotiating and closing new business.
•Responsible for administering,communicating and complying with all company policies and procedures, whetherformally or informally communicated.
University Degree in business or associateddiscipline (marketing or engineering preferred).
Five (5) plus years professional salesexperience in a related field (Fire protection, Security or related/adjacentconstruction business preferred).
Demonstrated skills, ability and comfortmanaging a high volume/transaction sales team.
Comfortable leading and working in teams,experienced at project management and successful selling at all customer levels.
Able to create and develop solutions tocustomer needs while meeting objectives.
Committed to developing and organizing amulti-talented team.
Excellent communication and team buildingskills with a strong understanding of inter-departmental relations.
Proven time management skills, prioritizationand delivery against deadlines.
Experience in managing a team through atransition or significant organizational change
