Supervises all operations of the South End Fitness Center and increases memberships while maintaining operations costs within budgets.
Ensures the opening and closing of the Fitness Center on a daily basis. Supervises employees, facilities and day-to-day activities of the Fitness Center. Arranges schedules of all employees and arranges proper coverage when needed.
Plans effective marketing campaigns to increase revenue and value as a public health resource.
Solicits, arranges, and approves all special events, including preparation of contracts, collecting fees, arranging security details and working with the management staff on use of the fitness facilities by outsiders. ·
Plans wellness programs to respond to customer needs profitably and fulfill mission as a public health resource. Oversees maintenance and repair conditions on the total recreational facility and equipment, and works effectively with Property, IT and other Departments to continuously improve the infrastructure, systems, and services.
Manages operational budget and supervises inventory, order/purchase requisitions, etc.,
Works in a confidential capacity with Director of Administration and Director of Contract Compliance. Meets regularly with Administration regarding all aspects of program operations, including but not limited to matters pertaining to program staff and other confidential matters. ·
Makes and recommends management and personnel decisions regarding program, including but not limited to promotion, transfer and assignment of staff, and imposition of discipline. Represents management in grievance and arbitration process, including but not limited to hearing and adjusting grievances, and attending grievance and arbitration hearings.
Performs other duties as required.
BA/BS in relevant field and a minimum 4 years management/supervisory experience required OR 6 years of relevant experience in lieu of the degree.

Good written and oral communication skills.
Willing to attain Certified Pool Operator designation and other certifications as necessary.
