I. Position Description
CH-47F Instructor Pilot/Standardization Instructor Pilot - Performs instruction and support of training involving the fielding of the new CH-47F (Chinook) helicopter and associated software. Performs duties as an academic instructor. Aircraft specific instruction includes the complete operation of the Common Avionics Architecture System (CAAS), Blue Force Tracker and JVMF, and CH47F systems differences training. Briefs and debriefs students concerning performance requirements, actual performance, and makes final decision as to students' successful accomplishment of course objectives. Serves as a training specialist in conducting job and task analysis. Assures the design of test instruments and training materials are technically accurate and functionally within known equipment and facility constraints. Develops technically and doctrinally sound instructional materials for training programs as well as conducts field and resident training materials/test validation.
Provides flight instruction as aircraft instructor pilot. Conducts aircrew training flights. Provides flight training on procedures, aircraft systems, operational procedures, emergency procedures, malfunction analysis, navigation, aerodynamics, radio operations. Conduct hands-on flight exams in aircraft as well as oral and written flight exams. Instrument instructor examiner provides both in-flight instruction and exams along with written and oral instructions and exams.
II. Basic Requirements (Education, Experience, Special Skills)
FAA Commercial Pilot or Airline Transport Pilot rating and the appropriate category endorsements. Must have rotorcraft helicopter CFI/CFII or DOD rotary wing instructor rating, Minimum 500 hours in category. Must have a current FAA Second Class Medical Certificate.
Minimum of 150 hours experience in the applicable aircraft, havequalified/served in such capacity during military service or have been trained to the requirements of the applicable Service Guidance modified to the contract requirements.
Minimum 1500 Pilot in Command time. Instrument instructors, additionally, 150 hours minimum of hood, weather and simulator time combined.

• Shall be a High School Graduate
• Must be a qualified CH-47F IP/ SP
• Must have an FAA Commercial Helicopter Pilot License
• Must have or be able to obtain a valid US passport
• Must be able to travel outside the United States
