Kelly Scientific Resources has an immediate opportunity available in the Indianapolis area for a Food Science major or candidate with a background in food chemistry or product development. Short term project 3-4 months.
The position primarily focused on research of sample products which demonstrate our food products & ingredients. Development of new products in our test kitchen to meet our customer requests. The individual holding this position must be flexible to handle last minute priority changes.
Prepare samples according batch sheet formula and processing directions as provided by senior product development personnel. Report all discrepancies in formulas or unusual observations to Supervisor or Food Scientist
Assemble, disassemble, clean and operate food pilot plant equipment. Training provided
Develop customer ingredient blends to produce desired product attributes according to customer request
Document all experimental formulas, processes and observations in notebook or customer files as directed
Conducts routine analyses on sample products and ingredient blends including pH, titrations, acidity, proximate analysis and etc.
Familiar with basic laboratory and food prep equipment
BS in Food Science, Food Processing, Microbiology or Chemistry, prefer 1-3 years of academic training in third or fourth year program in food science
Excellent training with a Senior level Food Scientist
