Our client is seeking a Forensic Electrical Engineer.
This location is based from home requires travel in the local area.

Forensic Engineers are technical detectives who employ the scientific method to form hypotheses and conclusions in order to discover all potential causes of fires and failures in every kind of setting involving electro-mechanical devices and components.
At least 7 work experience of an electrical position - - - this does not include education and/or an internship, not .
An active PE License (REQUIRED to be considered)
Minimum of a BSEE, BSET or BSME or BSMET
Experience as a plant maintenance manager, project engineering or in a position having practical experience with electrical wiring in both commercial and residential settings.
Must have a very strong electrical background
Strong of electrical codes
background is ideal, but not required
is mainly working from but must be able to travel throughout Texas.
The electrical engineer will work along with fire investigators in the field to conduct analysis to assist in determining the cause of fires. will be conducted on fire scenes in residential and commercial structures as well as on heavy equipment, automobiles and with individual electrical components, wiring in a lab setting, etc. Travel will be primarily throughout Texas, but rare travel to surrounding states could occur. This position works mainly out of the candidate’s home office.
Job entails performing forensic examination and technical detective work of a wide variety of electro-mechanical devices and components including but not limited to electrical panel boards, circuit breakers, building wiring, receptacles, switches, fans/lights, dryers, washing machines, , baseboard and space heaters, pumps/motors, controls, thermostats, air conditioners, dehumidifiers, humidifiers, power strips and surge protectors, computers, standby generators, photovoltaic arrays, switchgear, batteries of all types, etc.
Must also work with commercial equipment such as food service industry appliances, workshop devices, etc.
Training to become a certified x-ray technician.
Participate in arson investigations.
Utilize modern digital microscope and photography technology.
Utilize standard troubleshooting instruments such as and tone testers.
Write expert reports and fire scene/lab examination observations and summary.
Design and build test fixtures and perform testing in a laboratory environment.
