This role is responsible for conducting moderately complex natural gas, natural gas liquids, or liquefied natural gas accounting and measurement and financial accounting activities and the resultant balancing and analytical reporting. Perform various work assignments under limited supervision of experienced gas revenue staff, supervisor or manager. Bring inconsistencies and problems to the attention of management.
Specific responsibilities or duties include:
-Analyze and account for routine functions and/or other varied work assignments for natural gas, natural gas liquids, or liquefied natural gas transactions relevant to sales, storage, purchases, production, transports, fuel, and Unaccounted for Gas (UFG).
-Perform monthly volumetric allocations, invoicing of revenues and/or payment of purchases, freight, transportation, storage services or producer net settlements.
-Analyze revenues and expenses and explain variances between monthly, quarterly, year-to-date, prior year data and estimate to actual data.
-Address customer inquiries and work closely with Marketing, Transportation, Rates, Producer Services, Storage, Operations and internal and external auditors.
-Prepare monthly account reconciliations for balance sheet and intercompany balancing accounts.
-Prepare various receipt and delivery imbalances
-Calculate and record monthly journal entries-Insure compliance with contractual obligations related to job functions and implementation of tariff changes.
-Recommend and implement changes to processes and procedures related to job functions and assist in development and implementation of computer system changes.
-Prepare and conduct presentations at customer meetings.
-Conduct functional training to internal staff and external customers.
-Participate on project teams.
-Assist in preparation of quarterly 3Q and annual Form2, EIA or tax filings, data requests and other ad hoc requests.
Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Experience
2+ years of professional level accounting or finance experience. Other knowledge, skills and abilities include:
-Basic knowledge of U.S. General Accounting Principles (GAAP), practices and procedures.
-Basic knowledge of industry regulations and procedures, tariff provisions and policies related to natural gas, natural gas liquids, or liquefied natural gas accounting and measurement and financial functions.
-Demonstrated intermediate skills in Microsoft Excel
-Demonstrated working proficiency and knowledge of Microsoft word processing (MS-WORD), presentation (MS- POWERPOINT) and network applications.
-Strong team and customer service orientation.-Effective oral and written communications skills-Ability to learn quickly, to organize projects, to prioritize work and adapt in a rapidly changing environment.
-Self-motivated with strong work ethics.
Education Level: Degree or an equivalent combination of education and demonstrated related experience may be accepted in lieu of preferred level of education: Bachelor or Master
