Essential Functions• Continually reviews the accounting requirements of the division and directs the development and installation of appropriate systems. • Prepares statements of monthly financial data including income statement and balance sheet. Analysis of financial results as compared to monthly objectives. • Responsible for the financial performance measurements within the division, while ensuring financial performance reporting is accurate and timely meeting the constant changing need of the division and group. • Accountable for proper procedures, policies and controls being in place in order to maintain strong internal controls. • Responsible for internal and external reporting and for maintaining integrity, while assuring that Generally Accepted Accounting Practices are in place. Ensures compliance with local statutory reporting. • Respond to special financial requests and analysis and communicate potential problem areas. Conduct financial reviews/analysis as requested. • Leads the talent management and employee development processes for the accounting team. Ensures technically qualified personnel are placed in all positions and has training and development programs available for the division accounting organization. At least annually, reviews succession plans. • Directs the annual division planning process with emphasis on installing a proactive reporting system needed to support the management decision-making process. • Reviews and evaluates investments in all operating assets. • Lead month-end closing process: including preparation of monthly journal entries, margin and accrual analysis. • Assist in preparation of forecast and variance analysis. Participate and help lead preparation of annual strategic and profit plan activities. • Develop, train and motivate the Accounting staff. • Assist direct reports in their development of job skills. Delegate and monitor progress of assignments to each individual in the department through effective use of Performance management system. • Analyze financial data from Accounting staff for submission to Plant Controller, Division, or Corporate. • Review plant operating procedures and consistently applies general accepted accounting principles and company policies to financial activity at the plant. • Enable a LEAN environment within finance, thorough documented, reviewed and improved departmental processes. • Assists in Sarbanes Oxley compliance, lead preparation of balance sheet reconciliations and help control and safeguard plant's assets. • Work with colleagues on cross-functional teams to understand, improve systems and business processes. • Monthly report budget statements for all departments within the plant. Monthly analysis of product line statements. • Desirable: Familiar with Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) government accounting practices
Responsibilities• Defines projects and specific outcome measures for major organizational administrative units or through coordinating the efforts of multiple teams requiring an integrated approach. Projects and services provided typically involve assessing the needs of diverse internal and/or external customers. Acts as an advisor to staff to resolve administrative and operational problems. Directly participates in establishing and administering division- wide projects and priorities. • Frequent contact with business leaders and internal client organizations concerning projects and administrative policy and decisions. Has primary responsibility for projects and administrative systems having an identifiable impact on division performance. Serves a consultant role to other teams and/or customers. May coordinate the development, review, and/or negotiation of major proposals and/or business agreements.
Qualifications• BS degree in Accounting, Finance. Advanced degree or certification preferred. • 7-10 years’ experience in general and cost accounting area.-Must continuously maintain the highest degree of integrity, customer service, throughput, quality, cost reduction and people productivity. • Four or more years of increasing responsibility for leadership of administrative projects requiring advanced project planning and team organizational skills. • Demonstrated teamwork and team building skills in producing results and meeting organizational objectives. Capable of assessing and developing individual and team skills and capabilities. Able to create and maintain enthusiasm for new and challenging goals. Serves as a role model by promoting new ideas and positive change. • Thorough understanding of administrative functions and specialty areas, and broad knowledge of business and regulatory environments and trends. • Effective at building customer partnerships and focusing team accountability for and commitment to customer satisfaction.
