General Laborer

First Shift: M - Thr: 6:00am - 3:30pm

Friday: 6:00am - 10:00am

Second Shift: M - Thr 3:30pm - 2:00am

General Description/Purpose:

This position will provide a high level of service to ensure employee, customer, team member satisfaction. This entry level position does this by assembling wooden component parts into furniture assemblies. It also includes other tasks as needed to facilitate the construction of high-quality furniture.

Job Responsibilities:

1. Identify a variety of wood species products including but not limited to the following wood species: Cherry, Mahogany, Oak, Maple, Birch, and Veneers
2. Read, comprehend, and full fill production ticket and meet production goals based on case time standards
3. Read and Interpret part drawings
4. Utilize procedure booklets to make correct operating decisions and confer with management on out of scope situations
5. Inspect parts for quality and dimensional accuracy
6. Operate assigned machines in a safe manner
7. Utilize hand tools, case press, strap clamps, jigs, to assemble furniture
8. Work independently or in teams based on the needs of assembly and make decisions based on established operating procedures

Essential Knowledge, Skills:

1. Ability to apply basic mathematical concepts such as adding, counting, subtracting, multiplying, dividing and knowledge of weights and measure, utilize measuring tools such as tape measures and other measuring devices to sufficiently handle job tasks
2. Read, write and communicate using English language sufficient to perform job functions (Other preferences will be given for special language skills when there is a business need)
3. Ability to operate facility equipment as required in assigned area (including but not limited to: cutting equipment, sanding equipment, presses, hand tools, computers, copiers, , forklifts, pallet jacks, electric lifts, etc.)
4. Satisfactorily complete all Stickley training requirements (including but not limited to departmental training, annual Hazardous Material and environmental training, Forklift
5. Certification/, Grade Training (lumber) etc.)
6. Ability to interpret company documents and literature and UPC information
