To assist the General Manager reach/exceed all company results goals and standards, while learning the position of General Manager. Note: This position is designed to be a 6 -- 8 month position. The expectation at the end of training is that the General Manager in Training is ready to take a store.
⦁ Trains in the following functions:
⦁ Maximizing profits -- controlling labor to standard, controlling operating expenses, maximizing use of unsalables, maximizing yield percents.
⦁ Providing the highest customer service and quality standards -- Store visit scores, QA Audits/Swab tests
⦁ Building a competitive team -- understanding how to hire quality team members, training and coaching team members to high performance
⦁ Growing the business -- growing total revenue and average add on $ and %, building the business beyond the four walls.
⦁ Performs assigned duties in counter sales and/or production.
⦁ Performs other duties as required by business and departmental requirements.
KEY RESULT AREAS
⦁ Ability to fully manage front and back of the house.
⦁ Ability to understand and apply MOM procedures.
⦁ Maintain high customer service/quality scores.
⦁ Ability to effectively hire, train and develop associates.
⦁ At least 3 years' experience as a unit/general manager for a retail/restaurant operation.
⦁ An Associate's degree or general business knowledge equivalent to an Associate's degree.
REQUIRED LICENSES, CERTIFICATES, OR KNOWLEDGE
⦁ Basic understanding of P&L statements.
⦁ Intermediate computer skills, particularly in Word and Excel.
⦁ Effective communication skills.
⦁ Requires long hours at holiday periods.
⦁ Requires bending, stooping, standing, twisting, lifting products and supplies weighing up to 60 pounds and working directly with customers.
⦁ Requires working with hot, cold and hazardous equipment and conditions.
SAFETY HAZARDS OF THE JOB
⦁ Bending, stooping, standing, twisting, and lifting all pose potential safety hazards if not performed in a safety conscious manner.
The General Manager in Training does not have responsibility for the store budget, but is expected to understand his/her store's budget and assist the Manager in adhering to budgeted revenue/expenses. The General Manager in Training is also expected to learn how to manage a store budget.
REPORTS TO THIS POSITION
The GMIT does not have any positions reporting to it. The GMIT does supervise all store staff in the absence of the General Manager.
