Processes digital and hard copy data for inclusion in the geographic information system. Read and interpret technical drawings (as-built, schematics, dimensioning), legacy company maps, and aerial imagery for digitizing pipeline centerline in GIS. Utilize various company systems for tracking individual work, fulfilling update requests, and retrieving work order documents and engineering drawings. Perform minimal administrative duties such as copying, typing, and filing to organize GIS work.
? An associate's degree in Geography, Computer Science or related field or successful completion of a GIS certificate program. ? A minimum six-months experience in GIS data management ? Must possess and demonstrate knowledge of basic geospatial principles. ? Experience using geospatial tools/functions with an ArcGIS environment. ? Must have the ability to collect, interpret, analyze, integrate graphic and attribute data from multiple data sources into an enterprise GIS; interpret and understand maps of different types such as AUTO CAD, parcel maps, imagery, environmental, utility, and aerial imagery. ? Must be computer literate and have proficient computer file management skills; Proficiency with Microsoft Office products including an intermediate skill level in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Access is required. ? Must possess strong research, interpretation, organizational, and planning skills; high level of attention to detail. ? Must be a self-starter and have efficient communication skills. ? Ability to read construction orders, distribution and transmission system maps is preferred. ? Experience with linear referencing, engineering stationing concepts, and geometric networks in the pipeline utility industry is desired, but not required.
