Using a combination of hand sketching, computer modeling, and technical specifications the Designer interprets the Sales Rep's and client's vision, desire, and needs into a drawing that will clearly and accurately communicate the desired end result to the client, municipalities and all internal departments.
Review and evaluate all tasks received; meet with sales rep to confirm information, criteria and jurisdictional requirements before issuing an estimated completion time.
Manage workload to complete tasks in a timely manner by prioritizing all tasks based on current workload, date received, estimated time for completion, and type of drawing. (i.e. Concept, Preliminary or Production).
Communicate with Management, Sales and Administrators on designs, target dates, change dates, completion dates etc.
Research (if required) to create signage that meets the customers’ needs within budget.
Complete task as required by synthesizing all the information provided, including code or site restrictions, visual interpretation of client's needs and desires, relevant architectural styles, fabrication considerations, and budgetary concerns.
Design drawings to communicate clearly and effectively the intention of the design with accurate measurements, specifications and scales that are in an organized layout.
Attach PDF of the drawing(s) into the system and return all paperwork, samples, and patterns to the Sales Representative, or their support staff, upon completion.
Attend production meeting with the Sales Team, Production Manager, Estimator, Install Coordinator, and the Processor to discuss fabrication and installation requirements. The Designer will take detailed notes and mark up drawings according to the requested changes.
Research new ideas to expand knowledge of the sign industry, current design trends and theory, typography, relevant computer programs, and general knowledge.

Education and/or Experience - Bachelor’s Degree (B.A.) from a four-year college or university, one to four years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education, experience, and design ability.

Drawing Ability – The Designer should be able to communicate meaning and clarity of a Concept or Design to a client by means of a pen and ink sketch or rendering.
