Exhibits regular and punctual attendance.
Designs and implements a schedule for grounds maintenance of campus. Maintains timely, quality and compliant delivery of services.
Coordinates design and implementation of a campus landscape plan.
Oversees selection and ordering of plants, trees and other vegetation appropriate to region and climate. Ensures that such vegetation receives adequate water, fertilizer and routine care.
Oversees vegetation pest control through chemical spraying and other methods.
Coordinates community homes landscaping and care with house parents. Provides house parents with education concerning care of plants, flowers, trees, grass and other landscaping.
Provides training and direction for residents in groundskeeping and horticulture activities.
Oversees inventory control of related supplies and equipment.
Ensures that horticulture buildings are clean, safe, organized and secure.
Ensures that all equipment assigned is properly utilized and maintained. Facilitates staff training and resident training in these areas.
Supervises staff in, and personally exhibits, appropriate interaction with residents.
Develop relationships with staff and educate occupants of staff housing on expectations regarding lawn care and groundskeeping activities.
Execute independent thinking skills in regards to all groundskeeping activities.
A Bachelor's degree in horticulture, agriculture or a related field and 1 year experience in groundskeeping management or related is preferred.
A high school diploma or GED is required.
A minimum of 2 years experience in staff supervision is required.
Proficiency in general horticulture and landscaping equipment operation is required.
