Overview

CampHire is seeking an experienced Gymnastics Coach to lead gymnastics training for campers of all ages and abilities. If you are a gymnastics professional looking to spend your summer working with campers in Maine, this is the job for you! 

The Gymnastics Coach is a management position that oversees all gymnastics operations at camp including a team of 4-6 Gymnastics Specialists. This camp has a state of the art gymnastics facility with Olympic-style equipment, including a regulation 40’x 40’ spring-loaded floor, uneven bars, high and low balance beams, a vaulting table with a separate runway and springboard, myriad mats and spotting blocks, and a Tumble Track. 

Roles & Responsibilities 

• Conduct group training and instruction to teach campers of all ages and abilities.
• Develop and implement drills and lessons to help campers build fundamental skills. 
• Assist beginners in learning and remembering routines.
• Supervise all gymnastics activities and ensure safety of campers and staff at all times
• Inspect equipment on a daily basis to ensure equipment is in safe working order.
• Create weekly staff schedules and manage overall performance of the team.
• Choreograph routines for performances
• Coach gymnastics team in inter-camp competitions 

Qualifications 

• Must be 18 years of age.
• Professional gymnastics coaching/instruction required.
• Must have in-depth understanding of safety protocols.
• Must be proficient in instruction of the five apparatuses: balance beam, uneven bars, vault, floor and Tumble Track.
• Must have ability to choreograph programs and demonstrate tricks.
• Must be highly energetic, spirited, and motivational.
• Experience working with youth.
