An accredited hospital located in the Southern Connecticut region is currently searching for an experienced HIM Hospital Coding Coordinator to join their award-winning hospital team.

The HIM Hospital Coding Coordinator will act as a vital component of the Health Information Management team within this hospital. The HIM Hospital Coding Coordinator will be responsible for the planning, directing, coordinating, and evaluation of the HIM Department’s coding orientation and educational programs for the staff, physicians, and students. The HIM Hospital Coding Coordinator will report directly to the Data Quality Manager and will be responsible for supervising the personnel and functions involved in the Coding education program. The HIM Hospital Coding Coordinator will work in tandem with the Data Quality Manager to ensure proper education and implementation of effective policies and procedures within the department.
The HIM Hospital Coding Coordinator will also serve as a liaison between other departments throughout the hospital to guarantee education improvements and improvement of documentation processes to support the highest quality of coding and reimbursement. The ideal candidate for this role will have prior education in Health Information Technology and should have prior experience in educator roles. The HIM Hospital Coding Coordinator should be certified as an RHIA, RHIT, CCS, or CPC to be considered for this role.
