Tectonic, a multi-disciplined professional services firm, is currently seeking a full-time, entry-level HR Assistant within our Orange County, NY Office to become an integral part of our busy, fast-paced Corporate HR Department.
The HR Assistant will be responsible for our recruiting and onboarding process. The recruitment process will require assembling and placing help wanted ads, performing searches for qualified candidates, working with hiring managers to review and screen candidates, setting up interviews, and making employment offers in accordance with OFCCP guidelines. The HR Assistant will also perform our onboarding process, including scheduling and setting up orientations, coordinating safety orientations, coordinating and ensuring the completion of employment paperwork, and assisting new employees as needed beyond their orientation as needed, and all related duties as required.
Applicants must have a BS in Business Administration (preferably with a concentration in HR Management) and 0 – 2 years of HR experience. The qualified candidate will also possess outstanding interpersonal skills, exceptional computer skills (especially in Microsoft Office), and the ability to maintain strict confidentiality regarding payroll, benefits, and employee issues. They must also be self-motivated, able to work efficiently, adapt easily, multi-task, handle multiple deadlines, and be very detail-oriented, as accuracy is essential. Candidates must pass a criminal background check and driver record check prior to commencement of employment.
