Successful candidate(s) will demonstrate the following abilities; 1) able work in a fast paced environment in a mature, safe and professional manner, 2) able to work and communicate effectively with all personnel, 3) possess the mechanical knowledge and ability to efficiently service, operate, maintain and overhaul all production and auxiliary equipment as assigned using the appropriate tools 4) ability to maintain excellent attendance.
All production mechanics are responsible for producing quality 3-piece steel cans and/or ends as defined in the Company's quality standards. Successful candidate(s) will be required to perform numerous procedures including but not limited to; inspection, computer data entry, react accordingly to any out-of-standard specifications, lift truck operations, etc. This will be a second shift position. Starting hourly rate: $24.76 + shift differential
Knowledge of mathematics sufficient to add, subtract, multiply and divide, using decimals, whole numbers and fractions.
Ability to compute volumes, areas and gear ratios used in the production process
Ability to read and comprehend blueprints and drawings, handbooks specifications, equipment manuals, parts lists and other written material associated with the trade in the operation.
Ability to install and maintain assigned equipment with proficiency
Must be able to work all hours scheduled including overtime as assigned
Must be able to work different and or rotate shifts, (i.e. 1st, 2nd, and 3rd shift) if required
Must be able to work Saturdays, Sundays, and Holidays if required
Ability to perform all duties efficiently and with utmost due regard for safety of one self and co-workers
Exercise proper care and protection of all company property
EDUCATION: High School Diploma or equivalent
EXPERIENCE: Manufacturing Environment

PREFERRED SKILLS: Mechanical Experience / Aptitude Required
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Ability to kneel, stoop, crawl, squat and stand for extended periods of time while performing job duties (up to 12 hours per day)
Ability to push, pull, bend, climb, walk, & lift on a continuous basis (up to 12 hours per day). Possess excellent hand-eye coordination, adequate dexterity and strength in order to maintain and operator assigned equipment. Ability to distinguish through the use of audio, visual, olfactory, and tactile senses when the equipment is properly operating. Required to wear personal protection equipment (hearing protection and safety glasses) during working hours
WORK ENVIRONMENT: Subject to electrical currents, high noise levels, vibrations, varying atmosphere conditions and temperatures, hazardous chemicals.
