Infection Control Practitioner, Quality Management
Full Time, 80 hours per pay period, Day Shift
Position Summary: A healthcare professional with an educational background in the principles of epidemiology who is responsible for implementing, managing and evaluating all aspects of the hospital infection control program.
Minimum Education: Must be sufficient to meet the standards for achievement of the below indicated license and/or certification as required by the issuing authority.
Minimum Experience: A minimum of two (2) years' clinical experience is required with previous experience in infection control preferred. For staff involved in the care of age-specific groups, knowledge of the bio-psychosocial needs of adult, geriatric and pediatric patients is essential. Special knowledge is required in growth and development needs of pediatric/geriatric patients where applicable.
Licensure Requirements: Requires a RN or Medical Technologist. If employee in this position is an RN, must be currently licensed by the Tennessee State Board of Nursing. If employee is a medical technologist, must maintain current registration with the American Society of Clinical Pathologists. Certification in Infection Control (CIC) preferred.
