The purpose of this internshipposition is to develop college students that are pursuing a bachelor's ormaster’s degree in accounting. Interns will be exposed to a variety of projectsand activities that occur within the tax accounting department coveringmultiple businesses for Berkshire Hathaway Energy Company. Interns will havethe opportunity to apply knowledge and skills learned in college anddemonstrate abilities in the work place. The position is temporary, nonexempt,part-time/hourly.
Primary Job Duties and Responsibilities (Essential Job Functions)
Supports the compliance team to prepare federal and state income tax returns.
Supports the preparation of United States monthly tax provisions and performsother tax accounting procedures.
Supports the preparation of quarterly federal and state income tax estimatedpayments.
Assists accounting team as needed.
Must be a current college student, junior status or higher pursing a degree in accounting.
Must have completed at least one tax class as well as some advanced accounting classes (300 level or higher).
Software skills needed to be used in extracting information from various sources, conducting analysis and assisting workforce to achieve goals.
Effective project management skills.
Effective verbal and written communication skills.
Effective analytical and problem-solving skills.
Ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks and projects concurrently.
Availableto workpart-time in the spring (beginning January) andfull-time in the summer.
