The IT Intern is responsible for assisting IT Specialists and IT Field Technicians with setting up computers, installing software and drivers, and assisting users with computer issues. The intern will be required to troubleshoot issues and assist as needed for projects, decommissioning of equipment, and inventory tracking. If the intern cannot resolve the issue or determine a solution, they are responsible for escalating this issue to a field technician. Troubleshooting for a solution may include, but is not limited to onsite installations or replacements of various hardware components, software repair, diagnostic testing, and the utilization of remote control tools used to take over the user's machine for the sole purpose of troubleshooting and finding a solution to the problem.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Performs new installs/re-installs.
- Installs software.
- Configures desktops and laptops.
- Troubleshoots service desk tickets.
- Troubleshoots basic faulty equipment problems, identifies issues and conducts replacement or repair.
This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

Education and/or Experience
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Athena Database software; Microsoft Spreadsheet software and Microsoft Word Processing software.
