Applied Research Associates, Inc. has an opportunity for an experienced Operational Trainer and Requirements Analyst for the Joint Anti-air Combat Effectiveness (J-ACE) program located at Eglin AFB in Florida. This position is an integral part of the Joint Technical Coordinating Group for Munitions Effectiveness (JTCG/ME). Applicants must be a United States citizen, and be able to obtain and maintain an active Department of Defense (DOD) security clearance.
The position involves development, refinement and execution of a training syllabus to support the operational warfighters. Coordination with the US Air Force Weapons School, US Navy Fighter Weapons School, and military service intelligence communities will also be required.
The successful applicant will be required to travel on several trips per year, providing on-site training to operators and aircrew. The selected candidate must be able to provide technical solutions to a wide range of difficult problems. Work will be performed under only general direction and the selected candidate must be able to work independently and with a team to determine and develop solutions. This is a demanding, hands-on position.
This position involves aircrew and analyst interaction, supporting hands on testing of the software product, gathering and documenting requirements, and providing assistance to management for the J-ACE program. These responsibilities will entail extensive interaction with operational users (primarily aircrew and operational intelligence professionals), operational analysts at National Air and Space Intelligence Center (NASIC), Missile and Space Intelligence Center (MSIC), and other branches of the intelligence community, and civil service leaders of the JTCG/ME.
Required Skills and Experience:
- Tactical military pilot or weapons systems officer with 8 or more years of experience
- Experience in air-to-air and surface-to-air tactics, techniques and procedures
- Experience with weapon simulations or real-world systems
- Experience with IR and RF sensors and aerodynamic models is desirable
- Experience as an instructor or weapons school graduate is highly desired
- Must work well in a team environment and be able to develop and deliver technical presentations
- Bachelor's degree (Engineering, Mathematics, or an equivalent technical field is desirable)
