The Recover Audit Coordinator serves as the primary contact and resource for RACs (recovery audit contractor audits) and has primary responsibility for maintaining the integrity of and tracking these government audits and others as may be required. The Recovery Audit Coordinator is responsible for the ongoing and proactive coordination of YRMC’s recovery audit processes and will communicate directly with involved departments, including Corporate Compliance, Case Management, Health Information Management, Patient Financial Services, and others as necessary. This position centrally manages the timely, synchronized response to RAC audit and medical record requests and maintains reports which accurately track all RAC requests, correspondence, appeals, actions and outcomes. This position requires effective communication with all RAC stakeholders and excellent organizational skills to ensure timeliness of response requests, as well as continual program development through training and process improvement.

|External Education||Education Required:|
Associates degree in healthcare, business or related field.
Bachelor’s degree in healthcare, business or related field preferred.
Licensed in a clinical discipline (LPN/RN/BSN), or certified as a Health Information Technician or Certified Professional Coder (CPC) preferred.
|External Experience||Experience Required:|
2+ years clinical experience (LPN equivalent). Knowledge of care delivery documentation systems and related medical record documents; Experience working with Microsoft Office suite and Epic; Excellent verbal and written communication skills; Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills;
3+ years of clinical experience in an acute care setting – prior case management and appeals experience is desirable. Strong critical thinking, writing and communication skills; Ability to work independently in a time-oriented environment. Must have excellent organizational and project management skills.
