What would you do in this role?
Asa Jr. Physicist, you would beworking under the administrative and technical supervision of the SeniorMedical Physicist, Medical Director, and Director of Radiation Oncology, whilecoordinating and providing physics services to Lewis Gale Hospital Pulaski and LewisGale Medical Center. You would perform all functions of atherapeutic radiological physicist as defined by the AAPM.
•You would be responsible for assistingwith equipment quality control and assurance on radiation producing devices andother physics equipment.
•Consult with Radiation Oncologists,Senior Medical Physicist, and/or dosimetrist regarding treatment plans,dosimetry calculations, design and fabrication of accessories and clinicalsetups.
•You will perform physics consultations aswell as weekly physics chart review on all active Radiation Oncology patients,as well as initial physics chart review within three days of a patient beginningtreatment or a change in treatment technique.
•Assist the Senior Medical Physicist andMedical Director in the implementation of the Brachytherapy program.
•Master’s or Doctorate Degree in Physics,Medical Physics, Mathematics, or closely related field.
•At least two years’ experience inradiologic physics.
•Basic Life SupportCertification.
•If not licensed by the Office ofRadiologic Health, it is required within the first two years of employment.
