JOB DESCRIPTION:
The Web and Digital Applications Analyst is primarily responsible for providing subject matter expertise to support, manage, and enhance the City's Web and Digital properties – City Websites, Intranet (Sharepoint), O365, Social Media and other related applications.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
o Provide continual Enhancements to existing and new technologies
o Provide Operational support for existing solutions
o Work under the direction of the IT Business Application Services Manager for:
QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS REQUIRED
o Associates degree or higher in CS, CIS, MIS
o IIS version 6 and higher
o Relevant work experience may substitute for required education.
o Minimum of 3 Years supporting web-based IT systems running on Microsoft Windows Server and SQL
o Strong sense of customer/solution ownership, an overall drive for excellence, and a proven ability to manage assigned project tasks to successful completion
o Excellent customer service and communications skills along with ability to maintain productive team collaboration
o Ability to troubleshoot, interpret logs, document steps to reproduce software bugs, process problems or other issues which create application errors
o Strong problem-solving abilities
o Does not require software development experience
o Able to work independently on tasks assigned
PREFERRED SKILLS
o SharePoint Administrative and Governance experience highly preferred
o IIS and knowledge of SSL
o ITIL framework and SDLC methodologies
o Understanding relational database concepts desired
The Web and Digital Applications Analyst is primarily responsible for providing subject matter expertise to support, manage, and enhance the City's Web and Digital properties – City Websites, Intranet (Sharepoint), O365, Social Media and other related applications.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
o Provide continual Enhancements to existing and new technologies
- Work with City of Santa Clara business partners to implement new enhancements from the analysis to implementation phases, while ensuring that thorough testing occurs
- Support business objectives and ensure alignment with existing and new solutions
- Partner with Business stakeholders to define business and systems requirements for new technology deployments
- Create test plans / cases for enhancements, and coordinate and conduct user acceptance testing
- Perform direct research on potential technology solutions in support of software procurement efforts
- Respond to Customer Service Requests/Minor Enhancements as required
- Partner with Project Management Office (PMO) Team and Business Relationship Manager (BRM) to serve as technical lead over business-critical projects
- Act as liaison between the Customer and Third-Party Vendors to support and enhance COTS and SaaS (Cloud)-Based systems
- Coordinate with other IT Service Towers to ensure application technical requirements are met
o Provide Operational support for existing solutions
- Receive Incidents relating to system issues and outages
- Troubleshoot, interpret logs, document steps to reproduce software bugs, process problems or other issues which create application errors
- Produce timely Incident reports documenting system downtime
- Support identification of Root Cause Analysis
- Monitor systems for issues such as quality, accessibility and work with departments to resolve
- Develop and maintain technical and operational procedure and work instruction documentation
- Provide On-Call support as needed
o Work under the direction of the IT Business Application Services Manager for:
- Resource Allocation and Prioritization
- Regular updates through status updates, staff meetings, and face to face interaction
- Benchmarking, analyzing, and making recommendations with supporting data for the improvement and growth of the environment
- Ensuring application documentation and portfolio are comprehensive and kept up to date
- Following Change Control Procedures
- Staying current with the latest technologies
