US Oncology has an immediate opening for a self-motivated medical physicist at the junior level to operate out of our Atlanta GA district.
This is a new position, and the successful candidate will join a tightly knit group of 8 physicists. You’ll be working closely with an excellent team of physicians, dosimetrists, therapists, administrators and support staff, so strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential. We are comprised of seven radiation oncology centers located throughout the state of Georgia – six in the Atlanta metro. Five sites have Varian linacs (including one TrueBeam), as well as Eclipse for treatment planning and ARIA RV. The other site has two Elekta Synergy linacs and uses Pinnacle for treatment planning and MOSAIQ RV. All sites have a full array of QA systems and tools including IBA Blue Phantoms, Mapcheck, Daily QA3, Mobius 3D for second checks and Mobius FX for IMRT QA.
Atlanta is one of the nation’s fastest growing metro areas. The city features award-winning restaurants, iconic locales that rival any across the country – including the Tony Award-winning Alliance Theatre, the CNN Center and the Western hemisphere's largest indoor aquarium. The city also hosts numerous festivals and sporting events. Whatever your interests and hobbies are there is something here for everyone. The average cost of living in Atlanta still remains below the national average.
Master’s degree in medical physics with some clinical exposure in Radiation Oncology either through an internship or residency is required.
Board certification in Medical Physics preferred.
We provide HDR, SBRT and SRS therapies at select clinics. The practice also has one of the largest prostate seed implant programs in the southeast and it is expected that the candidate will have an active role in all of these procedures.
Initially you will be situated at one site, working alongside a senior level physicist until you are comfortable with our processes and accustomed to our protocols. Since the majority of our sites utilize Eclipse and ARIA, it is expected the candidate will already have experience in these systems.
Experience with Elekta and MOSAIQ is also desirable.
The US Oncology Network is an Equal Opportunity Employer. All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, national origin, sexual orientation, gender identity, disability or protected veteran status.
