The Wirecutter is seeking a New York City based Jr. Office Manager to assist in running and maintaining our NY facility. As a Jr. Office Manager you will be front of house for the office while seamlessly assisting in managing Wirecutter’s day-to-day operations. You will be a key partner to Operations Team members, serving to maintain a friendly, efficient and clean office environment while supporting our staff to be highly productive and efficient.
Who are we looking for?
We’re looking for an organized problem solver who takes pride in their responsibilities and always wants to help those around them. You should have a background in supporting a small to medium sized staff and have the ability to operate successfully within a startup culture which encourages a proactive and empowered mentality without hand holding.
You should have experience in managing an office that relies on a maintained schedule for operating effectively. You should also have experience working in a digital environment, operating and communicating effectively both in person and over a computer. The ideal Jr. Office Manager will know that no two days are alike and will be able to adapt to an ever-changing environment.
Above all else you should love helping people and thrive at solving problems. You should operate with ownership but know when to ask for help and how to prioritize.

Manage and support day to day office operations in a fast-paced, start up environment
Order weekly supplies of snacks and drinks for the office
Monitor and maintain office supplies
Maintaining a tidy office and check in on conference rooms to ensure that items and furniture are properly set up for meetings throughout the day
Assist in planning and executing both small and large events for our offices
Provide general support to various teams and coordinate special projects as needed
Perform Receptionist duties, answering /screening incoming phone calls and greeting / welcoming visitors in a friendly and professional manner
Greet and welcome visitors in a friendly and professional manner
Additional duties as needed
Exceptional organizational and task management skills with reliable attention to detail
Experience supporting a small to medium sized staff in a fast paced startup environment
Experience managing an office and performing general clerical duties
Must be able to commute daily to an office in and around NYC
Proficient in Excel and Microsoft Word on Mac software
Experience working with a remote staff is a plus
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and in person
Highly organized with the ability to problem solve, prioritize and delegate
General technical and digital knowledge required, experience with project management tools is a plus
