The position of General Manager for the Kensington Fire Protection District (District) is one of those rare opportunities to which public professionals gravitate. Located in the beautiful East Bay hills of Northern California, the Kensington Fire Protection District has an exciting part-time career opportunity (typically 50-80%, variable as needed) of General Manager (GM). Located in California’s beautiful East Bay hills, Kensington is a small unincorporated town that offers the best in city, suburb, and outdoor lifestyles. The KFPD provides high quality fire and medical response, and cutting-edge fire protection programs, equipment, and services.
The ideal candidate will have a MS or BA/BS degree in a related field, and 3-5 years of public management experience with demonstrated organizational leadership, strategic thinking, and successful community and stakeholder interactions. A combination of education, public sector experience, and relevant knowledge and abilities may also qualify candidates.
These will not be the only qualifications, but demonstrated experience in public administration, finances, and governance will be important pre-requisites. The annual equivalent salary range is $175,000-$206,000 DOQ, along with a negotiated generous benefits package. Recruitment closes on AUGUST 14.
