The Lab Courier for Asante provides courier and package delivery services for Asante hospitals and departments; Asante entities; Oregon Medical Laboratories, etc. The Lab Courier may prepare, deliver and pick up medical reports; supplies; x-ray films; pharmaceuticals; money bags; and lab specimens in client offices and other health care facilities. Duties may also include maintaining inventory and supplies in the Laboratory storeroom.
Depending on the routes, candidates must have the flexibility to work early morning, day, evening, and weekend hours. Some holiday shifts may also be required. Shift differential apply for evening and weekend hours.
·High school diploma or equivalent.
·3 - 6 months previous work experience required
·Medical terminology, clerical skills and computer expertise, preferred
·Previous experience in a health care setting, preferred
·Possession of a valid Oregon Driver's License with proof of safe driving record for the past ten years and proof of insurance is required
Working Conditions: This position requires the ability to frequently and repetitively lift items up to 20 pounds as a regular and vital part of the job. Heavier items (up to 40lbs) are lifted and transported on a less frequent basis. Those items include picking up and delivering centrifuges or boxes of supplies. The ability to bend, stretch, twist and perform other awkward physical movements is also required. To be placed in this position applicants must pass a physical functional screening.
