Support with all employee and labor relationsmaters under the guidance of the Labor Relations/Human Resources Director.
Responsible for having an in-depth knowledge of multiplelabor contracts and advising multiple local HRs on administration of thoselabor contracts.
Support plants with grievances process througharbitration.
Assist with preparation for contractnegotiations including costing
Generates, maintains and provides reports asrequired.
Analyzes, researches, provides recommendationsand develops new policies or updates existing policies on a variety ofemployment issues in compliance with evolving and current laws andorganizational standards.
Develops and maintains responsible relationshipswith labor organizations representing multiple locations.
Keeps abreast of developments in laborrelations, recent arbitration decisions and conducts research on tops ofinterest in meeting company objectives.
- Coordinates corporate projects.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Labor/Industrial Relations,HR Management or related degree.
7+ years of experience in Labor Relationspreferred.
- Knowledge of all employment related laws.
Strong leadership, facilitation, team buildingand process improvement skills.
High level of emotional intelligence withability to identify and manage interactions at all levels of the organizationby altering their approach based on situation and individuals involved.
Proficiency in completing workplaceinvestigations, including conducting interviews, collecting evidence,documenting and recommending path forward.
Familiarity with HR analytics/reporting/softwarein order to support and drive logical and informed decision-making.
High proficiency in Microsoft applications (suchas Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook).
Ability to cultivate strong relationships andability to influence.
Strong organizational, analytical,communications (verbal and written), and the ability to handle complex andemotional issues and resolve conflict.
Physical requirements – Must be able to lift 40lbs, climb ladders and stairs. Walking, bending, stooping is required. Must beable to wear personal protective equipment including the use of a respirator.Must be able to respond to visual and audible alarms.
- Ability to travel approximately 20%
Must be open to relocation for subsequentopportunities.
Experience in a chemical manufacturingenvironment a plus.
Previous contract administration and negotiationsexperience.
Experience with HRIS systems such as PeopleSoftpreferred.
