The new Sutter Santa Rosa Regional Hospital (SSRRH) is located in the heart of Northern California's famous wine country, just 50 miles north of San Francisco and 30 minutes from the beautiful Pacific Coast. A Laboratory Assistant I at SSRRH is an introductory position in the Clinical Laboratory. The general duties that are completed by individuals in this job class include: 1) phlebotomy procedures on all ages of patients, 2) processing of specimens, 3) registry of patients/specimens, 4) ability to perform in SSRRH's Outpatient Drawing Station, 5) utilization of the hospital and laboratory information systems, 6) performance of duties in the Microbiology department, 7) performance of front desk duties, 8) assists in the inventory and supply needs of the laboratory. A Laboratory Assistant I must be able to perform under pressure and may be required to work any shift (depending on the department's needs and their training).
- High School diploma or equivalent is required.
- Successful completion of phlebotomy training program and a California Certified Phlebotomy Technician I license required.
