As an integral part of the Cardiology Department, the Lead Echo Tech, with recognized leadership abilities and sound clinical skills, will actively assist the RN Coordinator and the Department Director in coordinating the day to day activities of the department as related to the diagnostic echocardiography procedures. The Lead Echo Tech takes a leading role in activities such as performance improvement, job performance evaluation, staffing, scheduling, and in the orientation and training of new Echo Techs. Additionally, the Lead Echo Tech will perform diagnostic echocardiography procedures.
Bachelor’s Degree, Completion of program related to sonography with emphasis on echocardiography or equivalent experience.
5-year minimum experience working in Noninvasive Cardiology Testing, 2-year supervisory and teaching experience, Working knowledge of all noninvasive diagnostics with emphasis on Cardiac ultrasound procedures and a working knowledge of the equipment related to those procedures; e.g., electrocardiogram, treadmill and ergometric stress testing, holter monitoring, echocardiograms, stress echo.
RDCS with ARDMS, BLS for Healthcare Provider from American Heart Association.
Fire and Safety Certification. If no card upon hire, one must be obtained within 30 days of hire, and maintained by renewal before expiration date.
