Minimum 3 Years clinical experience required. Cardiac experience preferred. Physicians Office/Clinic experience preferred.
Licensed Practical Nurse in a busy Cardiology Practice providing care under the direction of the providers and ensuring effective and efficient delivery of quality healthcare to the patient.
Presents diagnostic data, including critical values, and reports to providers and responds as directed.
Performs routine EKG procedures in accordance with the American Heart Association standards and department policies. Assists with providing additional diagnosis codes for testing if needed, along with preparing any necessary patient forms for provider sign off.
Obtains new patient records and previous test results, x-rays, scans, etc. as needed to facilitate patient visit and as requested by Providers at times apart from patient visit .
Phones in prescriptions, obtains pre-authorization for medications and makes other patient calls as directed by physician.
Triage phone calls from patients, laboratory, providers & other healthcare facilities and collaborates with physician/provider regarding plan of care. Educate patient/family on recommended treatments changes.
Triage incoming laboratory and testing results, review with physicians/providers and notify patient/family of results and recommendations, including daily review of INR results.
Facilitates patient tests, procedures and hospital admissions and schedules appointments to follow-up on test results, as applicable.
Performs other administrative duties, i.e. scanning, pre-loading, typing, filing, faxing, reception, etc. as requested by supervisor or physician. Maintains patient’s medical record in proper order based on established office protocol.
