The strategic combination of Tennecos Ride Performance business with Federal-Moguls Motorparts business will establish a global aftermarket leader with an impressive portfolio of some of the strongest brands in the aftermarket including Monroe, Walker, Wagner, Champion, Fel-Pro and MOOG. The companys broader aftermarket product coverage, stronger distribution channels, and enhanced channel development will strengthen its position in established and high growth markets (China and India), and drive success through new mobility models and capturing evolving e-commerce opportunities.
We are looking for a Logistics Analyst. This position will sit in Monroe, MI and will contribute to and responsible for the optimization of the transport flows and costs associated with Tenneco (North American inbound, outbound and expedited transport providers). The Logistics Analyst also has responsibility for service and performance levels provided by the transportation supply base. This Logistics Analyst will be a valued member of the Global Services department where we strive to promote from within wherever possible; therefore, opportunities for advancement are strong.

Performs analytical comparisons or evaluations of business-critical projects; gathers, analyzes and benchmarks historical, current and proposed transportation trends for management.
Collects, analyzes and issues proposed transportation rate and service proposal comparisons.
Lead for operational implementations of all modes, ocean, FTL, LTL, parcel, air and intermodal
Lead corporate transportation resource for internal customers (MFG plants and DCs)
Partners with internal and external operating units such as finance, commodity buyers, MIS, internal and external resources in supporting the development of logistics best practices
Maintains databases and reports for the logistics department, including: key performance indicators (KPIs), freight rate calculator, open orders, various freight invoice audits, transportation rate analyses and shipment validations.
Provides project management support for logistics, including any custom applications
Oversees freight rate data files, including creating and maintaining rate databases and spreadsheets
Provides interactive communication with distribution center, manufacturing plants, finance, purchasing and outside service providers, including vendors, and other support resources
EDUCATION:Bachelors degree preferred
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:
Strong PC skills; database manipulation and query; proficiency in MS Office.
General understanding of SAP.
Strong negotiation skills.
Self-motivated with the ability to work independently.
Travel required 15-20%. Can be some international travel outside of North America.
Minimum 2-5 years experience in North American transportation (logistics) or related fields with exposure to all modes (air, rail & ocean).
Automotive manufacturing logistics experience a plus.
Bilingual (Spanish) a plus to interface with MX and Latin American suppliers / plants & customers
Advanced SAP knowledge a plus
