Summary: This position is responsible for assisting with the management of Logistics Suppliers (primarily depots and transport carriers) for shipments to our customers and/or storage locations. This includes sourcing of new suppliers, executing agreements, managing Supplier performance, and ensuring Supplier capabilities are secured consistent with business requirements to deliver the lowest cost possible for the desired level of service.
The Logistics Analyst could serve as the primary focal point (with support) within the business to provide solutions, resolve problems and interface with the sales or other business unit or functional teammates for their assigned responsibilities. These duties will be consistent with the level of risk and performance level of the employee. Scope will expand as employee grows in experience and contribution with the target of becoming a full Logistics Manager.
There will be a strong focus on identifying OE and cost avoidance, ensuring Supplier accountability, strengthening Supplier relationships, and improving efficiency of internal processes. Additionally, this role will have responsibility (with support) to ensure the agreements are in place timely, and are accurately in the systems to promote efficiency and effectiveness of accurate and timely transactions. This role is a key support member of the HWY Logistics team.

Source depots, leases, and carriers services consistent with Director of Logistics Hwy & Logistics Managers direction and company sourcing requirements. Ensure contracts are in place, in compliance, and timely.
Identify new OE opportunities through various Logistics initiatives or solutions and supports other supply chain initiatives.
Ensures Logistics capabilities are current and in alignment with business and functional requirements;
Focal point for Logistics for defined areas, providing solutions, feedback for inquiries and resolving operating issues.
Provides necessary cost information for timely and efficient bidding.
Participate in developing Supplier relationships for assigned areas and ensures Suppliers have connectivity to business requirements/forecast.
Generates Supplier scorecards, reviews performance with Suppliers to ensure Supplier contribution and accountability. Nominates Supplier for service awards where appropriate.
Document all rates and Supplier support information necessary to enter Suppliers info into systems.
Identifies and eliminates waste from internal supply chain processes allowing for improved efficiencies and effectiveness.
Focal point to freight audit team to ensure that freight validation and payment are working satisfactory for the carriers and to ensure connectivity to development or electronic commerce initiatives.
Provides back up to other key Logistics members and performs other duties as assigned.

Education, Experience, PC Skills
Bachelors degree in business or Logistics; or a minimum of 2-years experience working in Logistics. MBA preferred but not required.
Familiarization with ERP/Business systems; Order Fulfillment, and/or TMS is preferred.
Experience with Enterprise One strongly preferred.
Must have strong systems thinking.
Experience with trucking industry or bulk terminal operations preferred.
Sufficient in MS Word, PowerPoint and Excel. Advanced skills in Excel or Access helpful.
