The Logistics Apprentice Year I and II is a logistics management trainee position. This position will train under the Logistics Supervisor as an apprentice for two years. The Logistics Apprentice I and Years II will enter 12 to 18 month departmental rotation that includes training in all aspects of warehousing, inventory, logistics, distribution, receiving, procurement, courier services, policy and procedure education, reporting, analytics, staff management and scheduling.
The Logistics Apprentice Year I will perform warehouse functions as training, including packing, picking and inventory control. These functions will be completed in rotations as each distribution campus at City and Mainland and at the warehouse.
The Logistics Apprentice Year I and II will receive one on one coaching and development from team leads and Supply Chain Management.
This Position supports organizational goals by providing quality customer service, participating in performance improvement efforts and demonstrating a commitment to teamwork and cooperation. The Logistics Apprentice Year I and II also will train and develop Warehouse Management skills while learning how to lead and motivate others.
EDUCATION: Bachelor's degree required.
LICENSE/CERTIFICAITON: Valid driver's license, insurability and registration are required through AtlantiCare Fleet Policy and provisions. CMRP Certification will be required within 2 years of moving to the Logistics Management position after apprenticeship period.
EXPERIENCE: 3-5 years' work experience in a corporate setting. Advanced Microsoft Office skills required specifically in Excel. Strong verbal and written communications skills required.
Demonstrates the competencies as established on the Assessment and Evaluation Tool for this position.
This position requires extensive walking and standing, and occasional lifting up to 20 pounds.
