United States of America - Virginia, Norfolk **Job Summary** AECOM is actively seeking an Engineering Technician to perform work as a Magazine Sprinklers/Navy Fixed Firefighting Systems specialist. The position will be located at the Mid-Atlantic Regional Maintenance Center (MARMC), Naval Station, Norfolk, Virginia. Essential Responsibilities: Primary skills required are in condition based maintenance assessment repair, and maintenance of Magazine Sprinklers/Navy Fixed Firefighting Systems on US Naval ships. + Have knowledge about Magazine Sprinklers/Navy Fixed Firefighting Systems on Navy Ships. + Demonstrate a working knowledge of Navy assessment programs, visit processes and reporting Methods for visits. + Provide support for various assessments and technical assistance. Following is possible list of equipment and services to be supported. This is not an all-inclusive list and is subject to change: Magazine Sprinklers/Navy Fixed Firefighting Systems and Damage Control Firefighting Equipment, Conduct inspections and/or assessment of current ship conditions. + Evaluate the findings of the inspections and/or assessments and determine away ahead to correct the current situation. + Ability to utilize computers including the Microsoft Office Suite for compiling information for reports and history files and transfer digital pictures from camera to computer and enhance as required and label them for report purposes. + Ability to communicate effectively in writing and orally. **Minimum Requirements** + Minimum of eight (8) years of general experience with the installation, operation, repair, testing and maintenance of the installation, operation, repair, testing and maintenance of Naval Magazine Sprinklers/Navy fixed firefighting systems. + Minimum of five (5) years specialized experience in the operation, repair, maintenance, inspection and assessment support of US Naval Ships” Ammunition Magazine Sprinkler Systems and related controls. + Must be currently NAVSEA certified Magazine Sprinkler Inspector IAW MSSI Requirements Letter of 24 May 88 and JFFM VOL IV Chapter 14, 14.2.2.a + Minimum of 5 years specialized experience in the operation, repair, maintenance, inspection and assessment support of US Naval Ships’ fixed firefighting systems to include but not limited to : Halon, CO2, AFFF, Water Mist. + Position requires a Confidential Security Clearance + Position may require travel **Preferred Qualifications** + General Experience: (Desired) Ten (10) years’ experience within the last 20 years in the operation, repair and maintenance of naval or marine propulsion machinery, electrical distribution or ordnance systems. A minimum of four (4) of the years should have been in a position of team leader or coordinator over a subordinate work force involved in the physical maintenance and repair of US Navy mechanical, electrical or electronic equipment and systems. + Specialized Experience: (Desired) Four (4) years’ experience within the last 10 years with 600 psi or 1200 psi steam propulsion, diesel propulsion or gas turbine propulsion and ancillary equipment. + a) At a minimum two (2) of the years should have been in the administration of the Navy 3-M and supply system, OR + b) At a minimum four (4) of the years should have been in auxiliary and deck machinery + c) The specialized experience should demonstrate the individual’s ability to: + Work independently + Supervise technical personnel in performance of operation, maintenance, modification and repair. + Provide on the job training to technical personnel in the operation, repair and maintenance (including use of equipment) **What We Offer** When you join AECOM, you become part of a company that is pioneering the future .
