Job Description Summary
The Manager of Clinical Informatics is responsible for overseeing and both the clinical and operational needs of the Medication Management Solutions – Informatics division of business. She/He manages or contributes to development of the company's products from a medical and patient perspective to allow for integration of Informatics resources with other interdisciplinary teams. She/He manages or assists with the data generation, design, implementation, evaluation, curation and continuous improvement of the BD Library with respect to drug formulary information, and future expansion of other information domains for HealthCare Master Data Management. The Manager reviews industry literature, practice guidelines, and new drug information databases to continue to improve and enrich the BD databases for drug information, and future expansion of other clinical data domains. She/He performs normalization of formulary data by medication mapping process, medication alignment, peer review of data updates, reviewing data trends to produce industry benchmark on the optimal setup for formulary data in all pharmacy automation systems. The Manager coordinates the collection and reporting of metrics defining benefits realization and return on investment associated with BD HealthSight Data Platforms, in partnership with cross functional BD departments. Provides direction and management oversight to the team of Clinical Informaticists – Curators
Key Job Responsibilities:
Demonstrate solid ability to lead curation, and content generation workflow for the Informatics Team by achieving the following:
Master knowledge and document the complete process of curation from clinical data research, all the way to input data in BD Library and publishing data to be used by several BDL users with regard to tasks, person/role accountable for tasks, common mistakes within the tasks and how to remedy them.
Demonstrate ability for time management and allocation between commercial activities and software development activities by completing deliverables that meet the desired outcome and on time.
Demonstrate the ability to assign, follow up and hold curation team(s) accountable to commercial customers effectively, and meet departmental service level agreement.
Own the curation process & procedure updates and training to produce standard work for the team to make sure Informatics is delivering reliable, quality work, every time.
Develop subject matter expert knowledge in BD applications to optimize effectiveness of Informatics Role in designing integrated systems in pursuant of HealthSight Platform, to include the following applications and how they impact mapping workflow.
Lead the development of BD Library foundations by taking observations and experiences from mapping workflow and other mappers to recommend additions and or changes within BD Library structure. (Associate is to recommend measurements for this goal).
Demonstrate the ability to utilize Curation Workflow and Profisee application.
Monthly Review of Curation Results & Challenges.
Facilitate problems identification & resolution ideation.
Facilitate actionable enhancement requests.
Contribute to the development of HealthSight Data Manager mapping efficiencies by taking observations and experiences from mapping workflow and other mappers to request enhancements.
Monthly update of Mapping enhancements document.
Facilitate prioritization of enhancement requests within Informatics team.
Facilitate actionable enhancement requests.
Build on work collaboration skills especially the ability to keep the appropriate team members informed with status – issues & resolutions within a particular project; and the ability to speak up with conviction to represent Informatics, Clinician and Customer’s voices in daily interactions, can demonstrate this in normal and difficult situations. Develop, socialize and implement the engagement model for Clinical Informaticists to interact with implementation teams, and customers to provide the best possible customer experience for formulary mapping (to include EMR Formulary Mapping, Alaris Drug Mapping and potential IKP Mapping).
Develop, document, train and execute mapping pre-implementation questions to cover all mapping areas.
Develop, document, train and execute the generation of Customer Action Plan.
Demonstrate the ability to lead the customer through Customer Action Plan, giving change management approach on how to make change(s) within BD Ecosystem.
Demonstrate the ability to lead the customer through Customer Action Plan, giving change management approach on how to make change(s) in customer EMR in collaboration with the HS Clinical Consultants.
Demonstrate the ability to interview the customer, and fill out the pre-implementation questions.
Demonstrate the ability of how to incorporate implementation preferences into the alignment service.
Demonstrate the ability to lead the customer through change management within BD applications, and also externally in the EMR.
Demonstrate the ability to work collaboratively with GCS Infusion Consultant to deliver this service with the best possible customer experience.
Professional Skills & Key Competencies:
Completes and maintains all regulatory requirements including licensing and certification, and other mandatory training within established time frames. Submits documentation 2 weeks prior to evaluation or as appropriate. Requirements may consist of, but are not limited to TB Testing, Safety Test, Compliance Training, HIPAA Training, Licensing and Certification.

Creates a plan for the overall training for MMS Informatics Team.
Creates the plan for the ongoing support for BD HealthSight Platforms and Solutions.
Defines overall communication plan for Solutions and Platform that utilize MMS Formulary Mapping Offering.
Identifies specific plans for individual Platform/Solution Adoption of MMS Formulary Mapping Offering.
Organizes educational training programs to insure proficiency within subject matter expert areas; insures applications are utilized for maximum efficiency, and that stakeholders are informed of new updates and revisions of the BD HealthSight applications.
Identifies strategic relationships with Med Affair, GCS and R&D stakeholders:
Communicates effectively and contributes to positive interdepartmental relationships particularly between technical staff and the clinical staff.
Builds relationships with peers, and staff. Is able to insure accountability relative to timelines, work product in support of reporting metrics and protocol compliance.
Participates on the MMS Informatics Forum committee, coordinating feedback to and from that committee to the different product groups in R&D.
Leads Appropriate Work Groups as Needed:
Collects, coordinates, and manages user issues, and expectations around development, functionality and outcomes for specific user group. Solicits feedback on development, functionalities and application performance.
Utilizes the knowledge and skills of clinical practice to determine clinical functions that are suitable for computer applications and to ensure the products and solutions are built to support optimal customer experience

Education and Experience:
Bachelor's Degree in Pharmacy or Doctor of Pharmacy Degree required.
Licensure as a Pharmacist in good standing, active.
Board Certification in Pharmacotherapy or other applicable specialty required.
Applicable Informatics Degrees – Bioinformatics or Clinical Informatics is a strong plus.
Minimum 5 years' experience in a leadership level position at a health care institution of medium to large size and complexity. Must be knowledgeable of new trends in clinical management and information systems, and be able to apply data processing technology for the clinical and physician services areas.
Must have a thorough knowledge of Pharmacy and Nursing practices and principles. Knowledge related to federal and state medical record statues and regulations required. Thorough knowledge of the impact of process analysis and re-design methodologies on the legal, regulatory, ethical, managerial and organizational, principles and standards for the acute general hospitals and health systems preferred.
Pediatric or Oncology Certification a plus
Certification in Epic or Cerner is a plus
Must have valid California Driver License and access transportation independently with willingness to travel to multiple sites when required.
