|The facilities manager is responsible for managing the design, planning, construction and maintenance of equipment, machinery, buildings and other facilities for HPS. The position plans, budgets and schedules facility modifications, including estimates on equipment, labor materials and other related costs.|
o Bachelor's Degree from an accredited four-year educational institution
o Minimum of 2 years relevant, administrative or professional experience
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
o Ensure all facility maintenance policies and procedures are implemented in all districts
o Manage School Dude software program; set-up new campuses, coordinate training, ensure proper usage
o Develop Facility Maintenance reports using School Dude
o Provide facility maintenance assistance and guidance to districts
o Provide guidance on what procurement procedures are needed for facility maintenance work
o Assist districts with major facility maintenance repairs over $50,000
o Manage facility maintenance contracts
Capital Improvements (CIP)
o Monitor capital improvement projects of all districts
o Monitor all capital improvement budgets and coordinate budget amendments.
o Review and approve all capital improvement requisitions and payment requests.
o Ensure all capital improvement payments contain documentation required by HPS policies and State laws.
o Directly assist districts with major capital improvement projects over $50,000
o Provide guidance on capital improvement procurement procedures.
o Coordinate all capital improvement payments with the Finance Department
o Monitor all construction bond payments in coordination with the Finance Department
o Monitor all construction bond budgets and reconciliations in coordination with the Finance Department
o Review and process payment application for construction bond projects
o Responsible for maintaining communication between the Facilities & Construction Department and the Finance Department
o Develop Capital Forecasting reports using School Dude
o Use WebSmart and JDox for all payment processing
o Record and document all capital improvement and bond payments.
o Ensure all construction work complies with the HPS Public Works policy and all State laws for CIP
o Monitor and ensure all AHERA regulations are implemented in all districts
o Monitor and ensure all ADA regulations are implemented in all districts
o Provide training to District Directors of Operations and District Facility Managers
o Occasionally visit campuses
SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
o Ability to communicate effectively in both written and oral forms with all levels of management, both internal and external to the district.
o Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships both internal and external to the district.
o Ability to organize special programs for department
o Ability to use computer including software, database used by the district, spreadsheet and word processing software, calculator, copy machine and telephone.
o Ability to analyze data
o Ability to use effective interview techniques, effective public speaking skills, and problem-solving skills
WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
o Light Work: may require the occasional light lifting.
o Nights and weekend activities will be occasionally required.
o Position is in office setting and may involve prolonged work at a desk in one location.
o Moderate travel is required.

Dallas/ Fort Worth and Central Office - Houston
Salary minimum: $60, 000 Salary maximum: $84,000
Austin, El Paso, and San Antonio Districts: $2,000 less
